Hello! I have a week and a half off uni!!!!!! Nice feeling that is.
Miss me any? Want to hear of my adventures since last post? Yes, tell us more I hear you cry!
Ok then.....
Life has mostly been taken up with CU, studying, working, ceilidhs, road trips (my kind ;) ), the odd Bible study at WiG (not as often as last year which saddens me, they're funny thought provoking people) and random trips to Troon and Hawick.
Most exciting events since last August include a week spent near Wales at a training conference for people involved in Christian Unions across the country. Was a most wonderful week. Had lots of teaching (Brother Andrew the founder of Open Doors spoke at it along with others. He is amazing) and also some fun after hour activities. One of which included me performing (along with others) in an open mic night. On stage and everything! Aren't you proud of me?! I would tell you what this 'performance' entailed....... but I'm ashamed. It means I was a member of the 17. If anyone figures out what that means I'll be impressed. Please do keep it to yourself if ya do find out though!
Other most excellent adventures include a week of volunteering for the Glasgow Internationals welcome programme. Was great to chat with some of the internationals that were coming to study here. I found it amazing that so many people travelled that far without having organised anywhere to stay! Very laid back people. Especially when you take into consideration the fact that I was helping some of them find accommodation! And yes I also gave people directions..... and no I don't think they got lost! Haven't seen many of them since though...... oh well. Such is life. Got to hang about lots at the airport that week aswell. Good times.
There has also been fun had at CU. And Audrey's been a few times this year! A more faithful prayer breakfast attendee than me too. She beats me. That means she wins. Which means I'm a loser. Shameful! Many a good time has also been had in Troon and Hawick. Lesley got Heather and I space hoppers for Christmas so we could race on them! Wonderful. Mines has been nicknamed Peter. For he is like a rock. But I'll stand by him. Even though he never won any races.
As for the ceilidhs.... every one made me smile. A lot. All were very different though. And I got to go to my first ever hogmany ceilidh. Can't think of a better way to start the year :)
God has been teaching me a lot this past while. I've had to learn to wait on Him. Though He is more than enough for me. Circumstances are ever changing like always, which unnerves me a bit. It's so easy to forget that life here is temporal.
God has a plan for this world. And we're involved in that plan. How truly amazing.
I'm off now to get sorted for a weekend of Hawick, CU organising and then Sunday! I've come to appreciate Sundays a lot more....
